Underground Safety Induction

Inaugurated in October 1997, this eight hour program is a general underground safety induction covering the elements listed below.

It is a competency based program and incorporates adult learning training concepts and is based on units of competence from the nationally endorsed Metalliferous Training Package MNMC201A Work Safely.

Presented in a classroom situation of no more than 20 persons, the only prerequisite is that the candidate must have a current MARCSTA General Safety Induction certificate.

Underground Refresher

Inaugurated in September 1999, this four hour program involves the review of the Underground General Safety Induction, and updates on legislative changes and work practices.

Presented in a classroom situation of no more than 20 persons, the prerequisite is that the candidates must have:

  • evidence of a current MARCSTA Underground General Safety Induction (to within 90 days from the expiry date); or
  • Recognised Prior Learning (e.g. Queensland Generic Induction)
